Cancellation and refund policy
Last updated October 9, 2026.
In short: there is no cancellation fee, and you are only charged after the work is done.
Before a worker is assigned
Cancel any time in the app with “Cancel this task”. The task is canceled straight away, any card hold is released, and you are not charged.
After a worker is assigned
Tap “Request cancellation”. Our team confirms it and lets the worker know. While your request is open the worker cannot start or finish the job. Once it is confirmed the task is canceled, your card hold is released and you are not charged. There is no fee, even close to the start time.
After the work is done
A finished job cannot be canceled, and the held amount is charged. If something went wrong, see “Refunds” below.
When we cancel or a worker can’t come
- If no worker is assigned by the start time, we release your hold and you are not charged.
- If an assigned worker can’t do the job, we try to find a replacement within your work window. If we can’t, we cancel the task and release your hold.
- If we cancel a task for safety or any other reason, your hold is released and you are not charged.
- If the price needs to change, we send a new quote for you to approve; the old hold is released.
Card holds
A hold is not a charge. When we release a hold, your bank removes it; some banks take a few business days to show this.
Refunds
If the work was not done, or not done as agreed, contact support in the app or at support@curbtask.com within 7 days of the job. We review the job’s photos, messages and the worker’s report. If we agree something went wrong, we refund the job in full to the card you paid with. Refunds usually appear within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank. If a tip was a mistake, contact us and we will look at it.
Please talk to us before disputing a charge with your bank; we can usually fix things faster.
