CurbTask Worker Agreement
Last updated October 29, 2026.
This agreement is between you and HIKEPILOT LLC, which operates CurbTask. It applies when you apply to work through CurbTask and every time you take a job. Our Terms of Service, Privacy notice and content rules also apply.
1. You are an independent contractor
You are an independent contractor, not an employee, partner or agent of CurbTask. You do not receive wages, overtime, benefits or unemployment insurance from CurbTask. You decide whether, when, where and how often you work, and you may work for other people or companies at the same time, including other apps.
2. Applying and approval
You must be 18 or older. Your application includes your service areas, the task types you want, your availability, a mobile number, a profile photo and a government ID. CurbTask reviews your identity and age and confirms safety training before approving you. You can take jobs only after approval and only in the areas and task types you are approved for. Keep your details up to date.
3. Your availability and job offers
You choose your areas, task types and availability, and you can change them. Offers are sent to eligible workers with the pay, the work window and the details needed to decide. Accepting or declining is entirely your choice: there is no penalty for declining an offer or letting it expire. Offers expire after a set time.
When you accept a job, please do it within its work window. If you can no longer do it, or something stops the work, tell us right away with “Report a problem” so we can find someone else.
4. Doing the work
- Arrive within the work window and tap “I have arrived” when you start.
- Do the agreed work as described, follow the customer’s instructions and stay within the task’s scope.
- Do the job yourself; do not hand it to someone else.
- Be safe, honest and courteous. Stop and report it if the work is unsafe or you cannot get access.
- Enter only the areas the task needs, and never take or use anything that is not part of the task.
- Use CurbTask’s messages to talk to customers about a job.
You provide your own phone, transport and anything else you need, and you cover those costs.
5. Photo proof
When you finish, take a real photo of the finished work from that job; jobs that move items also need a photo at pickup, and returns need the drop-off receipt or reference. Show only what is needed to prove the work. Proof photos are shared with the customer and our team. False or reused proof is a serious breach.
6. Pay, tips and payouts
Each offer shows your pay for that job in dollars. That is your full pay for the agreed work; expenses are paid back only if agreed in writing before the job. Tips are optional for customers, and 100% of every tip is yours.
Your earnings appear under Earnings & payouts once the job is reviewed. Today CurbTask sends your pay to you and records each payment in the app. Automatic payouts to your linked bank account through Stripe are coming (you would link your bank in Stripe’s secure setup; CurbTask does not store your bank details), and we will tell you before that changes. Pay for a job is released after the customer’s charge goes through. If a charge is refunded or disputed, we will explain how it affects your pay before changing anything.
7. Taxes
You are responsible for your own taxes. We will ask you for your tax information (Form W-9), and you must provide it before we can pay you. CurbTask or Stripe will issue a Form 1099 when the law requires it.
8. Customer addresses and privacy
Customer names, addresses, access instructions, gate or door codes, photos and messages are confidential. Use them only to do the job you accepted. Do not share, post, copy or keep them, and do not contact customers outside CurbTask for anything other than the job. This continues after you stop working with CurbTask.
Messages you exchange with customers through CurbTask are not private from CurbTask. Authorized CurbTask staff can read them to support customers and workers, resolve problems and disputes, check that jobs follow this agreement and keep everyone safe, and every such view is recorded. CurbTask staff do not post in your chats with customers; we contact you in a separate CurbTask support conversation.
9. Conduct
Follow the content rules and the law. No harassment, discrimination, theft, damage on purpose, or working under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Tell us right away about any accident, damage or safety concern.
10. Deactivation and appeal
CurbTask may suspend or end your access for safety reasons, fraud, false proof, theft, harassment, repeatedly not showing up for jobs you accepted, or breaking this agreement or the content rules. We tell you the reason. Your open jobs are reassigned, and you are still paid for work you completed, subject to any open refund or dispute.
If you think we got it wrong, write to support@curbtask.com within 30 days with anything that helps us review it. We will review it and answer within 14 days. We can reinstate your access.
11. Responsibility
You are responsible for damage or injury you cause while doing a job. CurbTask’s responsibility to you is limited in the same way as in section 10 of the Terms of Service, as far as the law allows.
12. Ending, disputes and changes
You can stop working with CurbTask at any time and ask us to delete your account. Disputes follow section 11 of the Terms of Service, and New York law applies. We may update this agreement; for important changes we will tell you before they apply, and you may need to accept the new version before taking more jobs. Questions: support@curbtask.com.
